StreetMap is an iPhone app for tracking investment banking recruiting. It is built and operated by Stefanie Pollock. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.
StreetMap does not sell your data, does not show ads, and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Information we collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are stored as a cryptographic hash by our authentication provider and are never visible to us in readable form.
During setup we ask for your name and expected graduation year. Both are used to personalize the app.
Information you enter
StreetMap stores what you put into it, including:
- Firms you are recruiting with, along with divisions, application status, deadlines, and notes
- Tasks, due dates, and priorities
- Events such as interviews, coffee chats, and deadlines
- A log of status changes and networking activity
Information about other people
StreetMap lets you save contacts you meet while recruiting. This can include a person's name, job title, employer, email address, phone number, LinkedIn profile, and your own notes about them.
You are responsible for the contact information you enter. Only add details you obtained appropriately, and keep in mind that notes you write about someone are personal information about that person. We use this data solely to display it back to you inside your own account. We do not contact these people, build profiles on them, share their information with anyone, or use it for any purpose of our own.
What we do not collect
- No advertising or analytics identifiers
- No location data
- No access to your device contacts, photos, camera, or microphone
- No third-party trackers or advertising SDKs
How we use your information
Your information is used to operate the app: to authenticate you, to store and display your recruiting data, and to send account emails such as password resets and email confirmations.
We may use aggregate, non-identifying information about how the app is used to fix problems and improve features. This never includes the content of your recruiting data.
Where your data is stored
StreetMap uses Supabase to host its database and handle authentication. Your data is stored on Supabase's infrastructure and is subject to Supabase's privacy policy.
Access is restricted at the database level so that your account can only read and write its own records. Data is encrypted in transit.
Email delivery for account messages such as password resets is handled through Supabase's email service.
Sharing your information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
We share information only in these cases:
- Service providers. Supabase, which hosts the database and authentication described above.
- Legal requirements. If required by law, subpoena, or valid legal process.
- Safety. To protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
- Business transfer. If the app is acquired or merged, your information may transfer to the new owner. You would be notified before that happens.
Your choices and rights
You can view and edit everything you have entered directly in the app at any time. You can delete individual firms, contacts, tasks, and events from their detail screens.
You can permanently delete your entire account and all associated data from within the app: open Settings from the Home tab and choose Delete Account. This cannot be undone.
To request a copy of your data, email streetmap.privacy@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to certain processing. Use the email address above to exercise any of these rights. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, your data is removed from our production database. Backups may retain copies for a short period before they are overwritten.
Children
StreetMap is intended for college students and adults pursuing careers in finance. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, and database rules that isolate each account's data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a strong, unique password and do not share your login.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated in the app or by email before they take effect.
